I have had such a great response to this program, and many requests for "bumper stickers" to show how large our pet loving community is. So, I designed a logo just for that purpose and ordered 3 x 4.5" vinyl decals made for car bumpers.  If you want one let me know!  The cost is $1.50 each, I will pay the postage!Hiway Dog Sticker

I want to say: "THANK YOU EVERYONE!"  THE MANY NICE EMAILS AND GUESTBOOK ENTRIES KEEP ME GOING AND BRIGHTEN MY DAYS!

Finally, a way to recognize PET FRIENDLY businesses!

If you see this symbol posted along your route, you AND your pet will find safe, clean accommodations.
Our members have "gone the extra mile" to make your travel experience as convenient as possible.

Hiway Dogs

Imagine taking a 350+ mile trip. Your pets and kids are in the back seat and getting antsy.  Will you pull off of the highway at an exit displaying this symbol, or take a chance of finding hospitality at an unmarked exit further down the road?  I think Hiway Dog knows the answer!

Hiway Dog Sign

"Our bright signs are printed on .08" thick metal."

Pet Owners:

Watch for the Hiway Dog symbol posted along roadsides, on business signs, and at highway exits!

Each sign tells you at a glance what to expect:

-If you see ONE BONE on the sign, you will find a minimum of shaded parking and "potty stop" conveniences. This would be for conveniences stores, small shops, and gas station type businesses.

-If a business offers a higher level of hospitality, such as, but not limited to, a walking path, motel with a fenced play area, pet supplies, bathing sink, they will display TWO BONES.

-If you see THREE BONES on the symbol, you better pull in and see what this exceptional participating business has done for you and your pet!

-A STAR on the sign indicates a supporting business or community group that does NOT have services on location, but supports the program.  These include Chamber of Commerces, Tourist Bureaus, Community Clubs, etc.

The program allows the participating members to be creative, explore fun new promotions, and show the world their level of customer service.

Just think! No more looking for a shady place to park so you can run into a store to shop.  No more covert potty stops in unsafe areas or in locations where it's not appreciated.  Tell your friends, spread the news of what is coming!

BUSINESSES & COMMUNITIES:

There is a river of wealth going past your town! Divert some of it! Display this universal symbol of pet hospitality to invite travelers into your location and off the highways!  See our info page for full details!

Consider this: Census reports that 79% of American households have dogs! Nearly 75 million Americans own cats! POLLS INDICATE THAT 77% OF TRAVELERS HAVE THEIR PETS WITH THEM!  This is a vast number of potential consumers, and they should be accommodated.  Its just good business.

Do the math to see how many potential customers you are ignoring:  Your state's DOT can tell you the number of cars passing your establishment.  Estimate how many are travelers and multiply by 77% to get the estimated number that may need a "pet stop".  Now take that number and multiply by an estimate of what they might spend on a beverage, fuel, lodging, meal, etc.

You will see that it pays to be a pet friendly stop!  If you are a business owner or member of your city's Chamber of Commerce, and recognize how our simple program will enhance your bottom line, contact us and be the first in your area to attract a new customer base.

Think of it: Instead of travelers using any location of pet pit stops, they will use a designated area.  This can be shared between many business to keep costs and litter to a minimum.  Click here to go to the membership form to see how the program works.  Its so simple you will wonder why it hasn't been thought of

before!
